The Strettons are under threat!

There is a massive risk the wrong type of housing will be built in the wrong places at a price local people cannot afford.

If you –

  • cherish our National Landscape
  • support sustainability
  • want the right housing built in the right places
  • want to avoid making local flooding even worse
  • believe in protecting wildlife

You can act to object to housebuilders’ plans.

The first site at risk is Snatchfield, Church Stretton. The current planning application can be viewed here: https://pa.shropshire.gov.uk/online-applications/simpleSearchResults.do?action=firstPage

The consultation ends on 3 March 2026.

How to respond

Please start your comments with the words “I object….”. Focus on the key points that you are most concerned about. Use your own words and try not to be too emotional in your response

Please click on the Snatchfield section of this website to read more and the reasons why the land is totally unsuitable for a major housing development.

This website

This website has been put together by an informal group of concerned local people working with local organisations. It aims to –

  • alert you to planning threats to the Strettons
  • provide solid and reliable information and
  • help you make your views known.

The group is highly supportive of the Neighbourhood Plan for the Strettons (NHP) https://www.churchstretton-tc.gov.uk/full-council-committee-agendas/ We need more, smaller housing built within the development boundary on “brownfield sites”. The NHP provides the policies to achieve just that.

Note for information

The small costs of running this website and other incidental costs are being met from the residual fund raised for the “Save Snatchfield” campaign in 2020-21.
